What we collectIf you don't create an account: we don't collect any personal data about you directly. General, non-identifying app usage may be processed by our infrastructure providers to keep the app running (see Section 5).If you create an account:
- Email address, via Apple or Google sign-in (if you use Apple's "Hide My Email" feature, we only ever receive the private relay address Apple generates, not your real one)
- Any display name or profile details you choose to add
- The pieces you save within the appIf you sign up for our newsletter (optional, managed from within your account):
- Your email address, shared with our newsletter provider, KitIf you submit your work as a creator (via our submissions form):
- Your name, contact details, links to your work, and anything else you include in the submissionWe do not currently use any analytics or tracking tools. If that changes, we'll update this policy before doing so.We don't collect payment information, because Corded is currently free.3. How we use your dataWe use your data to:
- Provide the app and its features (like saving pieces to your account)
- Send you our newsletter, only if you've opted in
- Respond to enquiries or creator submissions
- Maintain the security and basic functioning of the appWe don't sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising.4. Our legal basis for processing (UK GDPR)- Contract: processing needed to provide the app to you (e.g. account functionality)
- Consent: for the newsletter, and anything else you explicitly opt into
- Legitimate interests: for basic security, fraud prevention, and keeping the service runningYou can withdraw consent at any time (see Section 8).5. Who we share data withWe use a small number of trusted service providers ("processors") to run Corded:- Supabase | App backend and database (account data, saved pieces)
- Kit | Newsletter delivery
- Tally | Creator submission formsThese providers only process data on our instructions and are contractually required to protect it. Some of these providers may store or process data outside the UK/EEA (for example, in the US); where that happens, appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) apply.Consent and creator contact details from submissions are kept in a private, access-controlled spreadsheet rather than in the app's database.We never share your data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.6. How long we keep your dataWe keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your account data and saved pieces from our systems.Newsletter data — important limitation: if you're subscribed to our newsletter and delete your Corded account, your subscription is set to "cancelled" in Kit — you will never receive another email — but Kit's system doesn't allow us to fully delete a subscriber record automatically. The cancelled record (your email address) remains in our Kit account until we remove it manually. If you'd like your email address permanently erased from Kit rather than just cancelled, email us at [email protected] and we'll remove it by hand.7. Children's privacyCorded is intended for people aged 13 and over. We don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal data, please contact us and we'll delete it.8. Your rightsUnder UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Restrict or object to certain processing
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time (e.g. unsubscribe from the newsletter)You can delete your account directly within the app at any time. For anything else, email [email protected].You also have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) — ico.org.uk.9. SecurityWe take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including relying on Supabase's security infrastructure for account and app data. No system is 100% secure, but we work to keep your information safe.10. CookiesOur website may use minimal, essential cookies required for it to function. We do not currently use tracking or advertising cookies.11. Changes to this policyWe may update this policy from time to time. Terms of ServiceLast updated: 16th September 2026Welcome to Corded. These terms govern your use of the Corded app and website (thisiscorded.com). By using Corded, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.1. Who can use CordedYou must be at least 13 years old to use Corded. If you're under 18, you should have a parent or guardian's permission.2. The serviceCorded is a curated creative discovery platform. We hand-pick creators and pieces (poetry, art, music, ceramics, and other creative work), and match them to how you're feeling and also feature them in our Wander feed, through human curation rather than algorithms.Corded is currently free to use. We may introduce paid features in the future; if we do, we'll update these terms and let you know clearly beforehand.3. AccountsYou don't need an account to browse Corded. You do need one to:
- Save pieces to keep
- Subscribe to our newsletterYou're responsible for keeping your login details secure and for anything that happens under your account. Let us know straight away if you think someone else has access to it.You can delete your account at any time from within the app. See our Privacy Policy for what happens to your data when you do.4. Creative work on CordedAll creative work shown on Corded (pieces, images, writing, music, video) belongs to the creators who made it, or to Corded where we've created it ourselves (like curatorial text). By featuring their work, creators grant Corded a licence to display it within the app and to promote Corded, but they retain ownership.You may not copy, reproduce, redistribute, or use any creative work shown on Corded outside the app without the creator's permission.5. Acceptable useWhen using Corded, you agree not to:
- Attempt to access, scrape, or copy content in bulk from the app
- Interfere with or disrupt the app or its infrastructure
- Impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone
- Use the app for any unlawful purposeWe may suspend or terminate access for anyone who breaches these terms.6. Creator submissionsCorded operates on a hand-picked/nomination-based model. Submitting your work does not guarantee inclusion. By submitting, you confirm that the work is your own (or that you have the right to submit it), and you agree to the details set out on our submissions form.7. NewsletterSigning up to our newsletter is optional and managed within your account settings. You can unsubscribe at any time. See our Privacy Policy for details on how newsletter data is handled, including on account deletion.8. Intellectual propertyThe Corded name, logo, brand, and app design belong to us. Nothing in these terms grants you rights to use our branding without permission.9. DisclaimersCorded is provided "as is." We do our best to keep it running smoothly and to curate thoughtfully, but we don't guarantee the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will always meet your expectations.10. Limitation of liabilityTo the fullest extent permitted by law, Corded is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability for anything that cannot be limited under English law, such as fraud or death or personal injury caused by negligence.11. Changes to the service or these termsWe may update Corded, or these terms, from time to time as the app grows. We'll do our best to flag significant changes clearly. Continuing to use Corded after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.12. TerminationWe may suspend or close your account if you breach these terms. You may close your account at any time.13. Governing lawThese terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be handled by the courts of England and Wales.14. Tap the heart icon on any piece while browsing.How do I delete my account?
You can delete your account at any time from within the app, in the "My Account" area. This removes your account data and saved pieces. If you're subscribed to our newsletter, deleting your account also cancels that subscription.How do I unsubscribe from the newsletter?
You can manage your newsletter subscription from within your account settings, or by using the unsubscribe link in any email we send.How do I submit my work as a creator?
We work on a hand-picked/nomination basis. If you'd like to be considered, submit your work through our creator submission form, or reach out to us directly at [email protected].I want my data removed completely — what do I do?
